Description

Our Belgian focal point SPF Emploi, Travail et Concertation Sociale is scheduled to meet with Forem, the Walloon office for vocational training and employment, on 1 June in Liège. The primary focus on their discussion will be on the continuous integration of occupational safety and health (OSH) into vocational education and training in French-speaking Belgium.

This workshop serves as a follow up to a previous meeting last year, which successfully  established a network comprising representatives from vocational education and training (VET) institutes. The network’s purpose is to exchange and share information and best practice related to OSH.

During the workshop, participants will engage in discussions regarding strategies to enhance the prominence of safety and health at work within this specific context. They will explore various tools to use, and ways to maintain the engagement of trainers and trainees concerning OSH matters. The conclusions drawn will subsequently be presented and implemented.

The event aligns with EU-OSHA’s OSHVET project, which is centred around  raising awareness of OSH among teachers and students in vocational education and training. It also aims at providing valuable information and resources.

Speakers:

  • Frank Dehasque, Belgian Focal point manager
  • Yannick Delande, Forem

This activity, co-funded by EU-OSHA, is supporting the European Year of Skills organised by the European Commission. The Year aims to raise awareness of the importance of skills for employment, competitiveness and growth.
