Our children need help: call for musculoskeletal health in schools

Two reports spotlight high levels of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among children and young people and emphasise the importance of early prevention – before and after joining the labour market.

Promotion of musculoskeletal health and long-term commitment to education, physical training and ergonomic measures, plus better studies are called for in Musculoskeletal disorders among children and young people: prevalence, risk factors, preventive measures.

Better Schools by Promoting Musculoskeletal Health revisits established school and European practices to share fundamental advice for successfully integrating physical activity into education, by ‘speaking the language of the school’.
