The government has announced that investments totalling Rs 25,813 crore have been infused into the pharmaceutical sector, leading to the addition of 56,171 new jobs under the production-linked incentive scheme till September this year. In its year-end review, the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) also highlighted the successful accomplishment of the ‘Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana,’ meeting its goal of establishing 10,000 retail outlets in 2023.
