Athos will use specialized facilities and equipment at Caltech to perform molecular analysis and spectrometry-based proteomics using cultured cells and biopsies from archived and de-identified IBD patient samples
The proteomics analysis results are interrelated with clinical info. Incl. IBD subtypes, patient age, sex, disease location, prior treatments, and status. Athos can able to describe disease networks, identify patient subtypes, discover novel biomarkers & identify druggable therapeutic targets by combining proteome study with existing genomic data
