Headspace Health Acquires BIPOC Mental Health App, Shine

– Today, Headspace Health, the world’s most comprehensive digital mental health provider, today announced its acquisition of the Shine app, a mental health and wellness platform dedicated to providing a more representative and inclusive mental health experience for the BIPOC community. 

– Founded in 2016, the Shine app serves over 45,000 paid subscribers and has reached over six million people by offering self-guided content – including daily meditations, self-care courses, and personalized support – as well as virtual workshops hosted by third-party experts and Shine’s inclusive community. In addition to its D2C business, Shine has 90 enterprise clients via its Shine at Work platform, who will have the opportunity to transition to the Headspace for Work platform.

– As part of the acquisition, Headspace Health will add Shine co-founders, Marah Lidey and Naomi Hirabayashi, to its team along with an experienced team of engineers, and client success and marketing leaders from Shine. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
