Observed each year on 9 May, Europe Day is a day to honour peace and unity throughout Europe. The day marks the anniversary of the historic declaration of French foreign minister Robert Schuman in 1950, envisaging a Europe free from war and founded on the ideals of cooperation and sharing resources.

We are currently witnessing a defining moment in modern European history and questions arise about whether Europe is exiting the era of the “Long Peace”.

Today, EU-OSHA together with the EU agencies network stand in solidarity with Ukraine to call attention to peace as a motor for human rights, welfare and hope. The EU agencies touch the lives of more than 440 million EU citizens every day through their work.
