A new discussion paper reviews various aspects of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and prevention of psychosocial risks. The paper was developed together with the Italian National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work (INAIL).

Looking at Italy in particular, a 2019 national survey shows exposure to work-related stress and psychosocial risks rank first for Italian workers. The data also reveals a link between musculoskeletal pains and psychosocial risks at work.

This discussion paper stresses how important an integrated approach is to improving the prevention of psychosocial risks and MSDs.
