Description
Around 1.6 million people of working age are diagnosed with cancer in Europe each year. Moreover, cancer survivors have a 1.4 times higher risk of unemployment compared to their healthy peers.
Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan acknowledges that cancer at the workplace and return to work issues are important for patients, survivors and society.
This policy dialogue aims to (i) raise awareness about the impact of cancer in the workplace and (ii) suggest concrete actions and recommendations for improving communication between employers and employees when it comes to cancer at work.
