Assessing occupational safety and health risks can become an easy and rewarding practice for micro and small enterprises (MSEs). Intuitive online tools that are also sector specific can guide them through the process.

OiRA, the Online interactive Risk assessment platform is all about that and we are delighted to welcome a new member to the OiRA community – the Slovak Republic.

Its membership has been integrated in the Slovakian national OSH strategy for 2021-2027 and related work programme for 2021 – 2023.

Free and user-friendly risk assessment tools for MSEs are useful instruments to help companies prevent occupational accidents and work-related diseases. A project to develop OiRA tools in the Slovak Republic, tailored to selected industries and professions is already in place, initiated by the National Labour Inspectorate in cooperation with the University of Zilina. The Research Institute of Occupational Safety of the Czech Republic and the Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, are supporting the Slovak OSH institutions by contributing knowledge based on their experience in developing OiRA tools.

With the Slovak Republic now on board, the number of national OiRA partners reaches 17.
