As we enter the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic, health inequities have become an even greater focus for healthcare payers. Research performed over the past several years has increasingly highlighted numerous racial, environmental, economic, and historical inequities in healthcare. In line with this new priority, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has proposed a new health equity index in the recently released 2023 Medicare Advantage (MA) and Part D Advance Notice.
